PERFORMANCE OPPORTUNITIES

At GCDA we believe that performing is an essential aspect of dance as a performing art form. Performance opportunities give our students confidence, and self-esteem as well as a strong sense of accomplishment through the process of learning, mastering and performing to an audience. For this reason we hold 2 performances per year. We hold our big production in the middle of the year in order to avoid the Christmas rush. This performance is usually based on a story or a popular ballet and we strive to give the students as much stage time as possible. The production is fully costumed and held in the Aurora Centre Theatre. A production fee is charged at the beginning of the year in order to cover some of the costs involved in this event.

We also hold a much smaller end of year showcase. This usually involves some student choreography and is a fun way to wrap up the year.
